Butera is a city on Sicily in the
Province of Caltanissetta. It has 5178 citizens and spreads over a area of18 qkm.
The town Butera was colonialised already in prehistoric times and offers sights from several eras. So there are a couple of necropolises from the 7th till the 2nd century before Christ as well as ruins of a castle, which stems from the Arabian period. The parish church of San Tommaso with its artful plastering elements and paintings are worth seeing.
