Acquaviva Platani is a city on Sicily in the
Province of Caltanissetta. It has 1231 citizens and spreads over a area of88 qkm.
Acquaviva Platini has got its name because of the plenty of spring water, which can be found in this area, and the adjacency to the river Platani. The region was already colonialised during the period of the Saracen reign in Sicily, but the today’s village was only founded in 1635. In Acquaviva Platani the Church del Pugatorio and the 17th century Church Madonna della Luca are a must-see.
